Piranhas In a 30 Gallon

Is a 30 gallon big enough for 1 piranha? If not is a 55 big enough for 1?

a 55 is I know that. I don't think a 30 is big enough. My brother used to keep 6 pirhanas in a 55! HTH

You do not say if you mean UK or US gallons. A typical 48"x15"x12" is roughly 30 UK gallons and would be okay for a piranha.

Depends where you live, certainly legal in Europe, and I know a former member here used to keep them in Ohio. I have seen it written that they are illegal in some places though, although I have no personal experience of that.

They are illegal in certain U.S. states... unless you obtain a permit from the Wildlife Commission. Someone here posted a website that had the U.S. state breakdown on outlawed wildlife.

Depends on what kinda piranha. The littlest kind could because they are skooling fish. FM had like 6 red belly piaranhas in a 30 gal.
