Why is my ph always so low. Tap is 6.6 then when I test it's 6.2 ish used ph up. I have some marine sand can I put some in my sump tank as a permanent ph boost??

Why do you feel you need to increase the pH? 6.2 isn't particularly extreme and there are a great many fish who would be perfectly happy in it. A stable pH is much more important to fish as what would be considered "correct" for any given species.

Using marine sand in your sump is likely to cause you problems down the line. It will mean there's a big difference between tap and tank pH, making it very difficult for you to do water changes of any respectable size.

I say leave it how it is.
