Ph

So your test kit is faulty.
I quess but I have a lot of lime in the water which kills bacteria so Iam going to do a 50% water change tommorrow using spring water after I test it , the spring water I mean.

I not sure lime kills bacteria. At least not the amount you are going to find in your water. My dad spreads lime on our yard to lower the soil PH I am guessing it would do the same to the ground water. Have you ever gotten your tap water tested by a lab? If not you should look into it, if you have a well it should be done every year to make sure the water is safe to drink.

Yes we have it tested every year its save to drink just alot of lime have to clean the teapot every week, theres a spring down the street though Iam going to get some water from there tommorrow and test it might be better for little fishies lol. Now if I were keeping pearch, white fish or bass or muskie Id be all set lol. M aybe Ill go down to the lake and get some catfish lol.

I thought lime raised the pH of soil since it is alkaline.

Anyway, the lime in your water is what is causing the pH to rise. Lime is alkaline and will push up your GH & KH which will in turn raise your pH. There is probably very little you can do other than possibly use a mixture of tap water and RO water to keep the pH closer to the tap pH.
