Ph Level Extremely Low

My tap Ph is 7.6. my LFS uses the dropper test kits, no strips.

Try doing a 10% water change and then retest the tank water. The pH should go up. I usually do it every couple of days now when the pH drops and now my tank is holding steady at 7.2 :) You may have to do it a couple of times, but eventually it should balance out some.
 
You really shouldn't be using carbon in your filter unless you're trying to clear the water of any medications used.

The biggest harm to fish is not high or low pH, but having those levels swing up and down. It's best to try and just maintain the same level without using a bunch of chemicals.
