Pentazona Barbs?

Well,
I had a massive wooper a few days ago (turned up my heater at night, in the moarning it's 98 F.) , and about five of my fish died, so I'm thinking of getting some new fish for my 50 gallon. I have had many bad experiences with Tiger Barbs, but I love the look, so my LFS said Pentazona's .
Have you guys had any experience with this fish?

I have them, also called 5 ringed barb.

They tend to be very shy and don´t mix well with boisterous fish but certainly beautiful. Don´t expect them to present themselves in the way tetras do but I would say give them a go.

That might be a problem as I have Cardinal Tetra's, and Silver-Tip Tetra's. My Silver-tips are pretty fiesty. Do you think I should still go with them?

Odessa Barbs. Seriously beautiful barbs with a silvery green colour with a thick red band down the centre that blends into the silvery/green. Topped off with a bright yellow dorsal fin. I think they are the most beautiful barb - in my opinion.

Also kept in a nicely sized group (7 or so) they are ok with tetras and other fish. Not as boistrous as tigers but just as striking, if not more i think. They say they grow to 10cm, i think its more like 7 personally, havnt seen to many that big yet and i've seen a few. Tank size from 100L or more is ideal.

odessa barbs are really active and you have to keep them in big groups so they dont pester anything else

I have some pentazona barbs and they are gorg! a little timid at first but they do shoal very well and mine hang out at the middle at the front, the colours on them are stunning, Ill be getting another 6 soon

by far one of my favourite fish!
