2 og them have laid eggs a few time but no pairs yet. Nice tame discus, eat like pigs.

They are real beauties, look in very good condition too.

I'm very impressed, downright jealous, actually.

Those are really beautiful fish. I suppose you have one heck of a cleaning regimen to keep them looking that nice. Any fts?

Thanks for the kind words. I change 75% of the tank water 3-4 times a week. Also wipe down the insides of the tank and clean the sponge filter once per week. They are fed a minimum of 4 times a day.
My advice is get good quality discus from a specialist discus retailer. 6 3inch juvi discus in a 55 gallon is a nice way to start. Keep the tank complety bare-no substrate, no decorations- use a air powered sponge filter as filtration. Look after the water and the water will look after your fish ;) Frequent water changes are key to the discus growth and health. 2x 50% a week minimum. Feed 4 or more times a day.

yes i work...feed in the morning and 3 times in the evening. the tank lights are on 16 hours a day

Dang, that's a lot of water changes. I assume you're not using a siphon and a bucket, so how do you do it?

Beautiful fish, btw.

I use a fairly large pond pump to drain the water which goes directly into the toilet, it emptys 40 gallons in maybe 2-3 minutes. I then use a smaller pump to refill the tank with pre heated water.
A water butt with heaters and a airpump means you can do large water changes easily.

ive seen many beautiful discus in my life....but i have never.....i repeat...I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS BEAUTIFUL PENANG ERUPTIONS IM MY LIFE!
