Hi all,

I've had an assortment of African cichlids for years and now my mbunas are getting too large and aggressive for my set up. I have mostly trewavsae, kenyi and johannis and they just spend the day terrorizing each other.

I am considering trying to trade my mbunas in for other colourful but more peaceful African cichlids.

I am thinking about yellows labs (yes, still a mbuna but so much more peaceful), peacocks and haps. Would this be an attractive and compatible combo?

The set up is a rocky 65g with crushed shell substrate.

Thanks!

hey,
I have yellow labs and peacocks and haps. labs still fight but agree they are quieter, peacocks are pretty funny (reminds me of small dogs waiting to be fed) but again still like a wee chase now and then but all very worthwhile fish to keep

I agree. Labs are more subtle, but will still get nippy, especially if you get a male female combo by accident (woops...). They are fun cichlids. Just keep an eye out. My Luwino Reef Zebra Chilumba were killers. They would fight to the death. Labs and Peacocks should be fine. Enjoy.
