Parrot Cichlid

Hi

Thinking about getting a few Parrot Cichlid would they be ok with:

tetras
platies
my angel fish
danios
guppies
loaches
otto
cory

What size tank? I would say no though, they can be quite aggressive - they are half Midas/Red Devil cichlid after all and all the small fish like guppies and tetras etc could end up as food to be honest. Their size is a little unpredictable as well most get to about 6 inches but there are a few members on here with 16 inch specimens.

i got two and wouldnt trust them with anything that can get in their mouths. the smallest i have tham in with is bolivian rams. i think the aggression of these depends on individuals. my two have a barny with each other now and then but leave everything else alone, apart from when they start nesting and rearranging your aquarium for you. they is a dwarf parrot apparently but im yet to see any where i am in the uk.

As a owner of dwarf parrots... they are a very aggressive fish. In a community tank you need at least a few so they spread there aggression around each other then on tank mates(unless they are mated). I have 5 parrots with cory's, guppies, zebra daino's and angelfishes. And these parrot cichlids will push everybody out of the way during feeding times. I would hate to see what a normal size parrot would do to these small fishes.
