Parasite Die Off

About 2 1/2 Weeks ago i had a die off of several fish that i had, 2 Guppies and 2 Blue Rams that died of rather unknown causes. The only thing it could of been was an Internal parasite, becuase they did not display any other symptoms. I have 5 Harlequins, 1 Guppy, and 5 Amano shrimp left in the tank, and they seem to be doing just fine.

Since i've been having very bad luck with fish bought from LFS (almost all of them have died since my initial batch of fish). I'm considering buying off of liveaquaria, however I dont want to waste 60$ on Fish + Shipping only for them to bite it from any parasites inside my tank. So how long does it take for Free parasites to die off without any hosts they can get inside?

Can we have some more information? Such as, how big is your tank, how long has it been running, how did you cycle the filter, how long had you had the fish when they died, did you quarantine them, had you recently added anything to the tank, how did you determine that it was "internal parasites" - was that via here or the fish shop or your own deductions, what were your water readings when the deaths occurred and what method of testing was used, when you add new fish how do you do it, also what new fish were you adding? I know it's a lot of questions, but it'll help determine what's going on in your tank

It was more of a general question than anything, but all my readings have been 0 except for Nitrates which have been below 5 ppm. My tank is 29 Gallon Natural planted tank that has been setup for 3 1/2 Months. Before I added 2 Blue rams and 1 Guppy, I had 5 amano shrimp, 5 Harlequins, and 2 Guppies. Ten days after i added them, the newest Guppy died. It being somewhat lethargic, but nothing major, and eating normally. 3 Days later one of the original guppies that had been fighting Fin rot for Months died. At around that time the 2 Blue rams, which i've heard have a notorious reputation for ''sudden death'' started acting lethargic, they died 5 days later.

That was 3 Weeks ago, and since then nothing has died and everything in the tank seems healthy, 1 Guppy, 5 Rasboras, and 5 amano shrimp. I'm 90% sure its an internal parasite, because none of the Fish that died were showing any signs of other symptoms. just getting lethargic, and eventually stop eating and die. I've Checked on this Forum, as well as other Forums, and I've spent Hours Googling everything about the Possible diseases/infections. I never ask people at the LFS, most of them don't even know the first thing about that.

Correct, although i had to install a filter to remove tannins from the water from a driftwood i added a month ago.

if its not effected all your fish it could just of been old age and/or stress? and id think if you haven't had a death in a month i think your safe to get more fish in my opinion
