^ One would need to have their own personal aquatic museum or something to keep these... o_O

about 20 yrs ago I bought a piranha from my LFS and it turned out to be a pacu and ive never seen a fish grow so quick

I have seen adults in captivity twice - once at The Deep public aquarium in Hull and the other was in a specially built 12 foot x 12 foot pond in the back of a fish store. It was a rescue...

Unfortunately I have seen them in more than one fish shop and on more than one occasion in each...

I really am glad they don't sell them at the shops around here. o_O People in Romania would buy those thinking they're some kind of tetra or something, only to find out the fish won't fit in the tank anymore at some point, LOL!

But the amount of saltwater fish the shop I got my swordies and snails from made me stare at them like this O_O They have so many awesome fish there... Too bad I didn't get to look at everything up close but for sure they didn't have piranhas or pacus.

Man I hate those fish, only seen them in the London aquarium

I had a pair about 15 years ago in a 6ft tank with just UGF. They were fantastic fish if a little boring, my nan back then killed htem by dropping a tub of talc in the tank and didt tell me

If memory serves (it was 15 odd years ago) I went to get something from my room and saw the fish belly up, they were huge so could not miss them floating. The water was cloudy and was perfumed so but of a give away
