Oxygenating Crystals

Do they work or just another gimmick?

Bignose, this was the original question.....do you agree? A simple enough question by someone making an equiry. You didn't come in with an answer at all, but merely started ranting about "Proof"......that was the question in the first place..."Do they work"?

You, me and lots of others dont know the answer as we're not involved with its manufacture. If you had done some research yourself and had any experience with these items you could say so, but you haven't.

This is not a pop at you, but your first post was , as you state "aggressive"

ive got loads of the blue ones, buy one get one half price if you would like any?

BIGNOSE..... a straight to the point answer, whether you think this is a scam or not i suggest that you refrain from using the word "scam", you are entitled to your opinion on any product but the use of such words is not the way to go considering im with in the circle that you frequent.... and before you say that the "scam" word is directed at the manufactorers, this thread is about my listings so its directed at me.

Standing by exactly what I said above. Extraordinary claims such as the ones the product you are selling are making require extraordinary proof.

Please provide the proof, and I guarantee that I will, in public, completely rescind my use of the word scam and apologize.

Provide no proof, and I will continue to publicly question and say that these sound a lot like a scam.

It is really that simple. All I am asking for is some evidence that these do what you say they do.
well your gunna be waiting a very long time, im really not interested in whether you require the info, this thread has turned from the word scam to spam, take a hike and go and play with your troll as he seems to be the root of your problems

If you aren't going to take this opportunity to provide some proof, then I'm just going to be as blunt as you here:

Don't buy these crystals. They are a scam. There is zero proof that they work. It is nothing but a waste of money.

That is really harsh.
Could I just hear from anyone with actual experience of the crystal please lol

1) I answered the original question. I took the question and redirected it towards "whether they work or not, they really aren't needed, to what is the point?" I think that that is a very valid answer to the original question, and MM seemed pretty satisfied with the answer.

and

2) you missed the point entirely with "You, me and lots of others dont know the answer as we're not involved with its manufacture. If you had done some research yourself and had any experience with these items you could say so, but you haven't."

It's not up to me to "do the research" and discover whether some one else's claims are true or not. I don't have to do the research to ask for proof. I don't have to do the research to start off in a skeptical state of mind. In fact, with no research in hand, skepticism should be the first state people jump to, not acceptance. Did you believe me when I wrote about my invisible troll living in my cupboard? I'm pretty sure you were awfully skeptical and don't believe that claim, and won't until I can provide some evidence of it.

It is the same thing with these. I do not believe their claims. I promise, again, to change my mind if some evidence is brought forth, but I'm not holding my breath for it.

So, my answer to MM's question was to not spend any of his money until evidence is brought forward, and questions about how these crystals could put more oxygen into already saturated water is answered.

I know I can be blunt, but my intention is never to be "aggressive". It is very hard to infer tone from the written word, and I tell you that I have never been intentionally aggressive on an Internet forum. Blunt, yes. Aggressive, no. I am just very big on trying to inject a little healthy skepticism so that people don't waste their money on today's fads that turn out to be worthless.

Isn't that libel?? :)

It's not libel so long as I have a good faith reason to say and write what I said and wrote. And, at this time, I have a very good faith reason to write that.

thanks shaz i will send them tomorrow, i'll put them in with your other items :good:

MM, why do you consider that "harsh"? I have asked many valid questions that the seller of this product refuses to answer.

If you were buying a car from me, and I told you that it ran really well, but you aren't allowed to start it and see for yourself, wouldn't you tell people that my car ad was a scam?

How is this significantly different?

I just called it like I see it.

have you got a box big enough
yup ive still got a spare ehiem external filter box that i kept after adding the filter to the 6 foot tank so im sure it will all fit in there and 6 packs doesnt take up much room.

and I will continue my aggressive skepticism. It is really is that simple.

Think that says it all

Aggressive in terms of pursuing answers if there are any to be had. Aggressive in terms that I will keep raising the unanswered questions until everyone reaslizes that there is zero evidence that these things do what the manufacturer claims they do.

Not aggressive in terms of trying to be mean or angry about it. Like I said, I've never done that on an Internet forum.

As you obviously have an answer for everything, except the initial question, I think I too will let you go play

Mel - I haven't used them personally but had thought about using them in the past.

Hi Mel,

I've never used this specific product, but i would tend to agree with Bignose. In the absence of even an explanation of how the product works, the claims of helping with oxygenation and biological filtration surely must be taken with a pinch of salt?

I would keep your money firmly in your purse. :good:

What do you want them for, anyway? I've been keeping fish for years and have never had any need for such a product. It sounds like yet another product with the sole purpose of lining the manufacturers pocket through taking advantage of unsuspecting hobbyists, if you ask me.

Modaz etc, this is not a personal dig. I would advise the same to anyone, about any product of this elk, regardless of who is selling it.

Cheers :good:
