Would I be able to get a small enough heater that can heat the water from 75 degress Farenheit to 82 degrees. Temperatures flucuate too much to not have a heater.

i wouldnt risk a heater in anything smaller than 5 gallons, unless you want a fish fry. And I don't mean babies

i use the junior heaters frm walmart. they say that they are for 2-5 gallon tanks, but in my room it is currently 72 F and they heat my 1 gal aquaviews to 80 F. my 2.5 gal are about 78F

I have 25 watt heaters in a couple of my 2.5G tanks.
Neptune brand.
They work wonders. Steady 79 degrees round the clock.
I just keep a thermometer in them all the time and check the temp morning and evening.

Of course this doesn't help you probably, but just wanted to put out there what I use, in case anyone is interested.

I guess I'll get a 2.5 gallon or get my aunt's 5 gallon that she isn't using and split it.

Hopefully Mom won't make me decided between a hamster or the bettas. Cause I might have to choose the hamster.
