Hello everyone! I want to introduce a rare variety of Ramirezi. It is the result of crossing the electric blue variety and golden variety. I want to know if anyone has managed to cross these varieties and get one like mine or if have to get in a store. I think I was lucky. I hope to reproduce it. Regards.

they're not so rare in the U.K as I've had a pair

My pair never bred and they wern't with me for very long - both died within about 18 months. That said I suspect they were well aged when I got them. I found them to be very sensitive fish.

Good luck in getting them to breed. If you have a good pair and they are young enough there should be no reason why they shouldn't breed

Inbred fish is just plain wrong IMO.

Very nice fish, alot of people like strains to be pure but I don't see anything wrong with it providing it is not at the detriment of the animal, makes things a little bit more interesting imo! I have seen the electric blue and the golden in my lfs but I don't think I have seen a cross between the two, I would like to keep these one day but will probably start off with the normal variety and see how I go as I have read the electric blue is quite a sensitive fish as stunning as it is.

Hi Akasha and others. Yours have normal electric blue. Mine are other morph of the electric blue. The orange head electric blue. :) Here an update.
