OMG! Red Gills!

Hi,
Yesterday I brought home a Mickey Mouse Platty, and today he's got very red gills. I doubt this is his normal color. What shoul I do???
Tank: 10 gall-40 lt
Tankmates: 1 guppy (who seemed to think the platty was his girlfriend)
3 white skirt tetras

I just did a water change (20%) and ammo, and No2 levels are 0ppm. These are my first fish. I don't know what to do!

What is nitrate?, What temp are you running at?

Nitrate is 25 ppm and temp is 26 celsius

do u have any clown loach in ur tank. if u dont den add a little bit of salt. can it swim fine. is dere any thing like red worms sticking out of the gills. that happened to my guppy but ithin a week or two it had gone. i didnt add anything to the tank. how many liters have u got?

Nitrate could be lower. Any disease in your tank recently

Yes it can swimm fine. It seems to me that the guppy is trying to "mate" with him and he's not very happy about it. The guppy keeps chasing and rubbing against the platty. Could this affect him as well? I mean, could the red gills thing be contagious?

And Nope, no clown loach. No worms of any kind coming out of the gills. My tank is 40 lt. No disease in my tank recently either.
