Oh's Brother Selling A 1500 Litre Tank If Anyone Wants First Dibs?

Alwayslearning, that is kinda rude, but whatever, its not my tank, i wouldnt have put it up for that much, but after spending a fair bit on it hes only being logical, i know its a fair bit but not worth more than 200? i think there is, the bogwood cost £60 alone and theres a huge filter, air pump etcetc.

all i was doing was trying to see if anyone was interested, you could just have said no..

unfortunately maintenance costs dont increase the value of a tank... if it did i'd be a millionaire with the amounts ive spent so far also when selling second hand you have to cut the prices you paid to about 1/3 otherwise people will just spend a few more quid and buy things brand new

I wasn't being rude, as I said in my post. Old tanks like that you can pick up for peanuts and it doesn't matter how much that piece of wood was or anything, it's how it is as a package and like said, £200 tops.
I asked the question as I could believe it at that price and might have even found someone interested in it for that money, but for £1200 I am sure they're pfefer a brand new custom built one, complete.

right okay whatever, all i was doing was letting people know there was a tank up for sale, yes you can get bargains, and yes people are selling lower nowadays than they were a couple of years ago because they need the money.

old tanks like that you can pick up for peanuts, dont think so, he bought the tank alone nothing i it for £300 so cheapest around aswell.
I think anyone would be interested in it if it was £200.

i think if he isnt desperate to sell then he should keep it...

the price is high for a tank that been damaged, has a make do job done with filling the holes in the side of the glass, frame that needs painting and again a DIY base.

No one in their right mind will pay anything close to the asking price, he'd need to slash the price by 75%.


also with the baby he's gonna need something to calm him down... so keep the tank

I think the pregnant mother is causing more stress than the baby will ever do!
something along the lines of 'get that tank out NOW or ill smash it!'

look, its not my tank, im not even related to him so i cant go bouncing over, all hey noone will buy it unless you sell it for the cost of 1 nappy and a dummy.

The problem is the ad says the tank is repaired which suggests that the tank has cracks or chips which have been sealed. With 1500 litres, the weight of the water would be huge...and the risk of it exploding significant. That's my reasons, whatever price its set at, the risk is substantial.

If it doesnt sell i think it would be worth splitting up the stuff. I think he will make more selling the bogwood, filters ect sepratly than he will add to the cost of selling them with the tank. I got aa 5x2x2 with nothing else of ebay for £70 and its now back on there for £70 buy it now.

would love a tank that big would be amazing but i would for one wouldnt sell it iv got a 6 month old and he is amazed at my tank he will sit there watching the fish all day long so your friend should keep it for there little one
