Just gave the new tankmates a bit to eat, just to see how they were settling in, and they ate evrything i put in within ten sec onds, literally!

but then i noticed one little harlequin was struggling to eat, so as i was trying to find the net and keep an eye on it, i watched it spit out FIVE hikari tropical wafers. and then it ate them all again! i just stood there, jaw on the floor! i thought they only had stomachs the size of their eye!?!

Yep some fish can be really greedy lol ! Better be careful though as constipation in fish can be lethal. A lot of fish don't have any teeth and so they sometimes spit & re-swallow food to help break it up- personally i usually crunch up the flakes in my fingers before feeding them in small quantities to the fish over the course of about 2-3 minutes .

Haha it was ridiculous! Oh no i know all about constipation, once had a little oranda that i thought was pregnant but it turned out to just be constipated. Bad thing is because i thought it was pregnant i fed it twice as much
I cant physically crush up these wafers! theyre so hard and little! they can eat them quite easily, just not five at once!

I've heard the eye thing too, but my guppies will eat their micro pellets, then dive down to steal the sinking wafers from the cories. Clearly, the stomach has a lot of stretch to it.
