Ok my girlfriend is tired/upset about the babies in my 55 gal being eaten.
So I got a Aqueon 1 gallon with a hang on inside of tank filter.

1. Is 1 gallon size ok for babies until they 1/4 inch in size
I placed live plants in it for cover and have small gravel bottom
2. Do I need a bubbler
3. Do I need a sponge or stocking over the intake
My clean up crew will be a nirite snail
Thanks in advance

generally the minimum size tank for baby fry is 20 litres and bigger is better.

you need an established biological filter to keep the water clean. Air operated sponge filters are best for baby fish because they don't suck them up.

You are correct about an established bio filter
I will use the pad from my 2.5 gal betta tank and swap out
Thank you

I have a 30 gallon fry tank only because my new platys that were in QT had fry that I was not expecting in my plant/QT tank. I have a 10 gallon tank I am setting up to be a fry/QT tank. I have small fish so that should be good for fry until they get big enough to go into a community tank. As long as I do not have too many.

What kind of fry... thats a question.

Mine are live bearers swordtails mollies
In my 55 tank i have angels gouramis the mo.mies of the babies neons. Etc
I get the circle of life but girlfriend wants to save babies and we live in a small apt
