Gd i won't be getting any new fish any time soon so hopefully no more problems like this. Also at christmas i'll have m q up and running and the guy at the tip is looking at for tanks for me ...hehe =)
Okay my dad won't let me get the bag so a plastic container will have to do. Do i still need to pump air into this if it has holes in the lid? (Probably not just checking). Also her only giving birth to 6 or so babies is this because she was ill? As i read their meant to give birth to around 60 fry at her size/age. Is there any chance this levamasoile won't work?
No you don't need to use an air pump for the container as it would just escape through the holes.
The levaimsole should work it think it rots the head away of the parasite.
it takes it toll on fish giving birth all the time it takes alot of there bodys that why they need a good varied diet.
Plus females can store sperm for several months.
Mine have a varied diet...brineshrimp and bloodworm (one on sat, one on sunday), flakes, algae wafers, tropical fish pellets, catfish pellets, peas, cucumber. I know that and i don't get what you writ.
Okay well they given us two packets of paracin of something apparentlly very simalar to levamasoile. We have to mix it with blooworms in tank water for 24 hours then feed, do for three days then repeat in 2 weeks. SOund okay?
Well he wasn't really an expert minxy - he had to do research himself as he knew nothing about it - apparently not many fish go to the vets, i wonder why its SOO embarassing. Aparently its pretty much the same and with the bloodworm it aint absorbing the powder very well...
The whole thing cost £15 bloody pounds just for him to look at the fish and go- umm,, eer yes its ill. Grr!!! The medicien cost 70p a sachet.
This is what I used to do with antibiotics.
You just need the egg white of the egg.
You soak the bloodworm in the egg white and then roll them in the powder put in the fridge to set for 10 to 15 minutes.
Dont touch the bloodworms with your hands use tweezers.
