Not Sure On What Filter To Get For New Tank

That tank will be fine for angels.

For 2 fully grown angels, allowing plenty of swimming? I'm not saying I disagree because you have more expereience with them than I do and your renowned for your advice, but I was always under the idea that would need at least 4 foot minimum to allow enough swimming room. We have 6 display Altum's in own 6 foot tank at work and it looks just right. I know Altums will be different to what OP is getting but surely 2.5 foot is too small for fully grown angels with enough swim room?

The stocking rates here are generally accepted as the maximum for angels; http://webrbiz.com/angelfish/amh.html You can keep standard fin pairs in a 20, I like to keep veils in a 29, due to the increased water depth. Angels generally are not very fast moving fish, due to their shape, so the depth is much more important than the length. They are also not very messy as far as cichlids go, and do not need a tremendous amount of water per fish, such as an oscar would.

Altums are a different story, much mre sensitive than scalare, and grow considerably larger. For the most part they are wild caught, and need the cleaner water that can be obtained by a lower stocking rate in a larger tank.

With that tank you could have 4 angels, but this would cut back on your options for other fish.

she let him be there next to the tank<oh my god  >whats the problem am imaging that scotlas is more than capible of looking after a child...as you can see from the photo obviously someone was there.......
yes i would agree with tolak, would look nice with a pair :good:
tolak is renowed for angel fish advice :good:

if your child got electicuted what does it matter if you are there or not??? how is you bieng there going to help if he gets 10000 volts going through his body? not much you could do. srry but i have seen it happen and its not a pretty sight.

There is more chance of my son being hit by a bus, than being electocuted standing next to a fish tank with its lights on. My son knows not to touch wires.

And what gives you the right to judge me. In my eyes i see that i have done no wrong.

So i think it should be left at that now, dont you think?

It is extremely rude to comment on someones parenting skills. There was obviously someone with the child. It's a bit like saying don't take your children across the roads, because even if you're with them, you cant do anything if a car comes along? Don't be stupid.

Nice tank, again lol :good:

Ah right. You learn something new everyday! I still can't imagine two fully grown angels in a tank that size! Maybe i'm just mis-judging their eventually size. All my employees get trained to not sell Angels for anything less than 3ft short-term, 4ft long-term. I might review this policy after your information.
