Not Sure If I Found Some 'dyed' Fish Or Not ?

i went looking for some fish yesterday, and in one shop stumbled upon some 'red danios'. far as i could tell they were normal sized danios, both zebra and leopard, but instead of the silvery sandy colour with black markings they were red/pink with black markings.

i also went to another shop and found some 'pink tiger barbs'. about an inch and a half long, instead of ornage and black they were pinky red and black, obviously. they looked amazing.

are these 'proper' colourations of these fish or not ? the danios looked the most 'fake' to me, but the barbs looked very good.

sounds like they may have been dyed to me, i know tiger barbs also come as alibno,

The Tiger barbs were probably dyed as well; if they were albinos they would have no black on them, except for the eyes

Could they have been ruby barbs instead?

However the danios definitely sound dyed.

there is also some fluorescent
danios on the market there not dyed
its is bred in to them something to do
with modified DNA of something like that
i am sure i read it in PFK magazine

The modified Danio are called GloFish.
Moochy13, if you saw the weird 'dyed' danio in the UK, they are not GloFish as these are illegal in the UK. Also, Glofish are genetically modified Zebra Danio, the Leopard Danio hasnt been genetically modified yet. So the Danios are probably dyed

Pretty much my exact train of thought. But hopefully the pink tigers were actually ruby barbs.

Sound like albino tiger barb

I can't remember if it is a natural colour morph or a dyed fish, looks dyed though
