Noise

Hello fishaholics

I have another deep question for you this morning..... 8)

Since fish are sensitive to sound and tapping your finger on their window could make them jump out of their fishscales or at least irritate them, how would the constant humming of the motor from the filterpump in the water affect them.
Last night i put my ear against my fishtank and the humming seemed loud and enveloping, probably like a sonic boom to them..... poor fish . Anyway im just concerned how the fish would feel about this seems like they dont really have any quiet.
What are your opinions??

Sorry but there is no set way to stop these sounds, I have tried all manner of things to keep old air pumps quite with varing degrees of success, its just trail and error. What has worked best for me is foam insulator around the pump in a sealed box.

haha my pump is miles away from the tank ,just added some more hose,never noticed any buzz from the fluval filter as yet
