I am hoping to get newt or 2 for my coldwater fish tank, it is 80l but I would reduce the water lever a bit. In there at the moment is one 3-4" Ryukin (Fat fancy goldfish) and 6 pearl danios.
I am going to go to my LFS tomorrow where I have seen newts for sale and hopefully get some good advice, but would like a wider opinion.
What considerations do I have to make? obviously they would need some form of land platform. The back of my tank is open, from what i've read some newts are very capable of climbing the glass tank walls, is this true for all kinds?
Alternatively I could go tropical and get a turtle!
