New To Cichlids

After being very patient I have finally got my new tank up and running. After fully cycling it - time for fish! We decided on some yellow labs and some 'Malawi cichlids' (as the shop was selling them as) I would be most grateful if somebody on here could identify them? I've looked through the fish index page on here but can't quite work out!

I think that its a male Cobalt Zebra or Cobalt Blue hybrid, beautiful fish.Has the male egg spots on the anal fin.

those two little spots? yeh the fish pictured has 2. i've a slightly smaller fish that has two aswell. the others dont.

they all look more like the cobalt blue i think. what do the spots mean? what does it mean if they dont have spots? female?

They are egg spots. When the female lays her eggs, she goes to pick up these fake ones. When she trys, the male fertilizes her. cheers

No, egg spots are not a sure way to tell gender.
