Does anybody have any suggestions for a tank (fairly small) + stand for a budget of around £150-£200?

I fancy building a planted tank with a school of small fish.

The only tank I have managed to find on this budget so far is the Aquaone Aquastart range.

When you say quite small, what tank dimensions are you thinking of?

David

That sort of money could go a long way on a second-hand tank.

I'm open to suggestions, I fancy something fairly tall though..

I've been looking in the local papers and have found nothing of real interest so far. Also, I'm without a car, and so pick-ups are somewhat impossible unless they're within a few miles.

Can I come back to my original question and modify it a bit?

What space do you have for a tank?

Sorry, I am being useless!

I have room for a 3ft tank, but 2ft or smaller would be more sensible. Width and height aren't really restricted.

ND aquatics do a nice 24x24x24" tank which would look nice as a community set up and they do delivery. The tank alone is £132 but its £285 for the stand as well.

If you feel you're up to it, I bet you could construct your own tank & stand for a lot less than a similar tank would cost in a store. Have you checked eBay, Aquarists Classifieds and similar sites?

Nice! A little over budget, but I like it!

I completely forgot aquarist classified.. Are there any brands that I should completely avoid in terms of quality?

If your up for it you could make a stand for it fairly easy and still well within budget.

Seapets.co.uk had a good deal recently

92 litre curved front with pump, heater and light 100 delivered

Leaving you 100 for a stand

It's about 3 foot long ish, maybe just under

Hi, have a look at an Aqua AR620 - they are 90L & also do a tall version, AR620T which is 130L - i got mine with a stand from Ebay for £125.

They've got an overhead filter which is easily maintained.

I wouldn't be up for it personally, I have very few tools/DIY skills. But I have a friend who may be interested..

I do like the look of the Aqua One ranges, I have absolutely no experience with overhead filter systems though, any real cons?

I have found a fairly tasty Aqua One 500 with stand for £80 on Gumtree.
