So for V-Day I get a 125 gal tank. I'm so excited I should have it set up next month if all goes well. It's not going to be easy moving Furniture, fish tanks, and all my fish and plants around.

So I ordered some fish. I'm getting a 1" super red severum and a 1" heros notatus these guys are hard to come by so I had to get them now. I'm hooked on severums. They really are perfect fish. Fun to watch them grow up, Play well with others, are cute, Great colors, and my green severum is always out showing off aweome personality. Once you get one you want more.

For thoes of you that keep more then one in a tank how do yours get along?

Ive got 3 sev's in my 125g, they all get along fine, the largest at nearly 8" now is the boss, always has been, but he is very gentle now, he was a holy terror as a little nipper, but as he grew he mellowed.

The other two have their squabbles occassionally, the 5" green likes to keep the 3" gold in check, nothing nasty, just the odd chase away from his patch.

Severum are my favourite fish, Ive tried other large fish, I even find them more interactive than oscars, you have the space, I cant see there being a problem, one will always try to be the boss, most likely your green as he will be larger I suspect.

Congratulations on a new tank, nothing like setting up a new tank, I love it lol. I only have 2 servs (rotkeils), and they get on really well (being male and female helps lol) I keep toying with the idea of adding a couple of green (when I eventually move all my tanks around) they are a super fish.

You could probably get away with a plec, got a nice big fat gold spot would look nice lol

Thanks guys they should be here in a day or so I can't wait. I'm going to grow them out a bit in another tank before I add them to my other babies. Yes my green will be the larger one but she is such a push over I don't think it will be a problem. I read severums like to be kept with other severums.

I'm so excited. Ordering fish is like being a kid on Xmas.

I have a 7.5" Super Red, 5" Gold, 3.5" Green and a 2.5" Super Red, all get on fine, i did have a 6" Female green as well...but she was plain nasty so rehomed her.

I'm on the look out for Rotkeils at the mo.

Congrats Snowflake. What a nice V-Day gift. (I got some new tele-boots!)

Where did you are are you getting the tank from? I gave up on craigslist and just bought a 60.... same kid at X-mas, plotting and planning what to do.

Have a great time.

I have a want add on craigslist. A month ago a guy offered me a 125 gal acrylic with stand for $200 I could not have the tank then due to my arm still being messed up. I emails him and he sold it on me :( . So the search is on. I got offered a 125 gal glass tank with a really nice stand but it's glass I really want acrylic. I'm also looking for tanks in Sac too I will drive 2 maybe 3 hr for a good deal. Now I don't know should I wait for my dream tank or settle for glass.

I can't afford a tank that larg brand new. Also tanks are like cars as soon as you fill it with water it devalues it.

Congrats on your new tanks that's a good size you will be happy with it. Where did you find it? What are you going to stock? I should have asked you if you wanted to order some fish with me. Wetspotcx on aquabid has some awesome fish and is in Portland OR so the shipping is not too bad.

Turns out I lost a lot of fry I was slacking on wc because I went back to work. I did not put the larger filter in soon enough too. So I only have 2 that are doing great and are good size. Then 3 small fry that are doing ok fingers crossed for them. They are in with the parents now so I can use the fry tank for my new fish that are on the way.

So we went to look at the 125 gal. It was just too long and too heavy. We could not hit it in the car with my daughter in the carseat in the back. So I passed. I think a 100 gal or 90 gal would make more sence. I really want a 100 gal 5' Lx 18"Wx 23" D but that's not a basic size that you can find. Well I have found some 3 hrs away but traffic would make it more like 5 hours to the bay area.

So I found a 90 gal 48"L 18"W 24"D here's what I want to stock. Do you think I'm pushing it with this? I think it could work for awail but I might have to sell off 2 Cichlids when they are full grown. I'm going to be running 2 canister filters rated for 90 gal and a maybe a small HOB filter because I like the waterfall effect.

1 heros notatus
1 super red severum
1 green severum
1 ebjd
1 Geo Bahia red
6 emperor tetras (will move once others get big)
3 pictus cats
1 rubber nose pleco.
