New Tank Help

Hi folks

ive just brought a new 180 ltr tank a corner one

im thinking of putting guppies tetras and some shirmps in it

my question is how many fish can i have in this tank and also how long will i need to run it and new filter before adding the fish

Do a fishless cycle in the beginners section of the new freshwater tank forum.

Read up in the nitrogen cycle there too. It will take quite a few weeks but it is well worth it saving you 3 months worth of daily water changes as to not put this fish at risk of dying.

It then gives you time to work out what you want to stock your tank with, there are so many options.

In a tank of that size with the fish you mention you will be able to fit quite a few in. But be careful with the guppies because 1 male and 2 females will soon become a hundred. As SABF mentioned, do the fishless cycle or try and source some filter media from another member and work out your stocklist.
