Right this minute, my betta's are spawning for me

This time, I have chosen Shadow, who is a mostly black superdelta with the flash he shows a light blue sheen, but in real life, is a fairly solid black with a metallic blue finish.

Our female is a pale blue half moon, with a black front half of her body, I apologise as I have forgotten to take a pic of her, will get one when they are finished.

Unfortunately he has moved the leaf down to the bottom corner of the tank & its not easy to photograph, but I think you can see them ok.

They are a very cute couple, Shadow is a right softie, he waits under the nest & she goes & nudges his side, then they wrap. He is great at catching the eggs, but Skye has been nicking a fair few to munch on.

They were both conditioned for 16 days.

All going well, here is a picture of the nest this morning, dad is doing really well.

I popped the picture into paint for a quick headcount & am so shocked :hyper: there are over 280 in there!! I'm so proud of mum & dad, they did a great job. I know I will loose a lot over the weeks, but its a brilliant number to start with

Congrats! That's a wack-a-load of bettas! They will make for some nice adults with parents like that. Good luck!

Ahh Bless, they are adorable:wub:

great stuff! :)

The parents look nice too! :)

Is that white thing a tub? Its great for seeing the fry in. Were the parents spawned in that? thats quite interesting.
