new fry! will they be eaten?

Get a lot of plastic and live plants put them in the rocks and float them at the top give them hiding spots. I have tons of fry in with my adult fish and my fry count is growing at this very moment my larger guppy fry are surrounding the little newborn fry like they are guarding them and whenever a big one comes near they chase it off. It is interesting to watch. I have a ton of plants in my tank and the fry are doing just fine. I tried the breeding net thing but I couldn't tell which fish was having fry so I gave up and got the plants. as long as the fish are fed less food at a feeding but more times per day the fry will be ok. I can tell when my fish are hungry be how they act when I walk by I also throw in some fry food for all the other fish to eat while i suspect one is giving birth (sometimes I figure out who is having fry that way) It kind of seems to divert attention away from mom and also feeds any hiding babies. Good luck.

thanx guys. :)
I've ended up with eight fry and was able to get a breeding separator.
They're so precious.....  I love them.
They seem generally content, although, they're only fry.....hard to tell.
at the moment they're being fed ity broken up flakes.
is there specific food for fry? :*) :/ :look:

this forum is turning me into a fishy fiend!
not so sure I mind..... B) :fish:

There is Liquifry, or other liquid fry foods. I feed my fry First Bites. They are a very fine, slowly sinking granule that floats for ages if you sprinkle it on top for top feeders, or you can wet it a little to have is sink for the mid-bottom feeders. I've been having some luck with it (although I did use ground up flake myself ;) ) and it's supposed to promote rapid growth.

When I had fry (or rather my Danios did!) I fed thema variety of Liquifry No. 1, then bought a pot of brine shrimp eggs which are fun to hatch, then as their little mouths got bigger moved them on to Liquifry No. 2 and finely crushed flakes.

1. Be careful with the brine shrimp eggs, apparently fish cannot digest the shells so it's important that the fry don't get the shells. Next time I'll buy shell-less as it's a hassle fishing out the brine shrimp with a pipette!

2. You can crush flakes really well if you put a pinch in the corner of a plastic bag.

thank you so much you pnyklr3 and red, sounds great.
my fry love you  hehehe :p

unfortunately think one of them has a broken tail or spine, I rescued him from the filter, and he doesn't seem to be swimming in the breeding separator, just lying on the bottom. :-( poor little brave fry.
