The first three of my soon to be 6 discus are on day two of settling in and for the life of me can not figure out where the terms "hard to feed", "skittish" and "timid" come into play!

This is their second night with me and they are feeding like right little pigs! Also, already setting up a pecking order between the three of them. My other three are being added in tomorrow or Tuesday.

Right now there is the Yellow Marlboro (the yellow and red one), the Checkerboard (the whitish with red and blue) and the Red Turquoise (the bluish green one).

I found discus to be really boisterous and happy creatures too! :) little bit of argy bargy now and then but I assume it was down to the fact that they werent pampered lol, they were in a bare bottom tank with a good sized eel and crysicthys ornats catfish and if they didnt shift themselves to get food, they would lose it, only took them a few seconds to realise that feeding like piranhas at the surface was a great idea lol.

Always found them to be like angels, curious about the world outside the tank, my discus would all come down to then end of the tank and sit watching tv when it was on! And had my glass vivarium with my chameleon against one side of the tank and they would follow the chameleon up and down his vivarium watching his every move (he loved the fish, kept him occupied for hours! they would all even sleep near each other lol). Or if i moved in the room they would be following me up and down the glass wanting more food.

I ran my tanks at 26 deg C and only had warmer tanks for spawning discus, and also just did 50% changes once a week, sometimes twice... not sure if that had any bearing on them being less tempermental... that and they were all wormed every 3-5 months. And not too much in the way of decor for them to spend their life hiding behind. All that and some serious matchmaking in terms of discus personalities! The joys of having several big tanks to switch them between!

Cant think of anything else I might have done different to anyone else who has wimpy discus?

Would love to see photos of yours!! The Marlborough especially!! :D
