came home from work early and checked my tanks as usual and to my suprise, baby swordtails. this is the second time in a month she has given birth. my only concern is that the 1 month old babies might eat the new ones. i have them all in a breeder net. i haven't caught them all yet so i don't know how many there are.

They should be fine together, i have 1-3 month old fry together and also there all in with some adukts as well so your 1 month and new ones should be ok np

i'm so excited, the first time she had babies she had 5, still haven't caught them all but i'm counting at least 10 this time.

I wouldn't worry about it either. I have two sets of fry (swords and mollies) in my 10 gallon tank and they are getting along well.

Oh, and my sword gave me about 30, while my molly gave me closer to 50!

i have a pregnant dalmation molly that should be giving birth anytime. she averages about 30 each time. i caught all but 2 and now i don't see them so i think they became food.

My girl was so big I thought she would never have them. I knew we were going to have a lot and I figured about 30, but was so surprised when I saw it was closer to 50.

my girl has been huge for quite some time, when the swordtail gave birth the first time we thought they were hers. we just couldn't figure out why there were so few. but as they got bigger we could tell they were swordtails. one thing that intrigues me is that every time my molly has babies she loses more spots and becomes more black. my male lost all his spots a long time ago and is completely black. and he is beautiful.

i've caught 11 and there's still 2 loose, they are hiding behind the filter. hope i can get to them before my fish. but if they get eaten they get eaten.

i have now caught 14 and still see 1 more loose. i wonder if she has them all at once like my molly or over time?
