I have a dilemma now. Mum has been hiding in the coconut for the past 2 days and I believe she has eggs again although I can't see into the cave to confirm. She has 11 reasonably large babies already that she now has no interest in. Dad is still looking after these babies but I'm concerned About how his behaviour might change towards them when the new fry hatch.

Are the babies at risk ?

Could you not move the babies ?

I have nowhere safe to put them. Dad is still looking after them, mum is in her cave.

Hopefully they will be ok if not you will possibly have to move them on

The eggs she had didn't last. She went straight back to looking after her old babies. They are getting huge and I'm going to have to think about rehoming them soon. I think I have about 9 and 3 or them are female. Rest are males. They are over a month old now and still with mum and dad

Just a film with the babies in. Parents are still looking after them but they are getting huge. They were raised in a community tank and mum and dad have done a grand job.

Changed the tank abit, new sand and a few bits. Babies are nearly as big as mum now. Everything wonderful

So I have just found 35 little cory eggs dotted around the very top of my apistogramma tank. This is a first spawn and two of my frisky little albinos are responsible. My tank is getting very gunky at the moment and I'm doing 70% water changes every 5 days but its very very murky again after 3 days. I'm convinced its the coconut caves to they are being replaced with pebbles and green slate. I want mamma apistogramma to get broody again but I think the water isn't good enough at the moment because of the water.

Time to upgrade the filter, or add a second one unless the issue is your filter either being completely gunked with debris or underperforming due to more serious mechanical issue.

Filter is less than a year old but I will take that into consideration, i never thought it coukd br that so thanks. I've removed the coconut caves yesterday and done a 70% change. So far so good and water is looking Great. I have an aps internal 800lph and it's only 70 ltr tank do should be more than enough, but i'll buy a new one if it its. The coconuts were getting a yucky growth on them. I'm hoping I've solved it. The water can't be too manky if the cories have suddenly decided to spawn lol so I'm hoping it was just a visual problem ;)

Tank is clearer and I've put the cory eggs in the breeder net with the flow of the filter slightly angled towards them. Hope they hatch lol

A little video. Gender still not determined lol I also have 10 baby albino cories in a breeder net in that tank. 2 and one week old ish. I'm not saving anymore cory eggs as I don't have the room and I can't keep the babies. I'll grown them on about more then find homes for the cories. I really want my apisto to spawn again

I have one positive ID on a male. Yay. The others still not sure lol
