This tank had me in hospital last night!

Moved my algae scraper and put it on a box behind me. kicked the box and knocked it off then moved forward to plug my lightsd in and ran my toe across it. 45 minutes and the bleeding not stopping i went to a&e where they put 4 stitches in it! soooo painful now tho. lol. and one of the light tubes doesnt work! so ive gotta take it all apart again tonight!

Watch these Chinese tanks dude (if that what it is).

Had one just like that and it leaked within a year.

Great to look at, but not built the best. Don't get the cabinet even slighly wet, it is made of the cheapest, nastiest board you could imagine under the veneer. Mine leaked at the corner underneath, the water went through the scew holes on the top of the cabinet and caused the wood to become 'mushy'. Must have made the tank slighly off and then it sprung leak after leak on the front seam. Couldn't repair. When I finally stripped it all down, there was horrible mold underneath, it must have been leaking for some time.

Just warning though, sure it will be fine, most people's are fine. Good luck.

/me would like to point out that most tanks are built in China ;)

But seriously, the "cheap" versions are often identical to the "branded" ones, just without the stickers. I imagine you just had bad luck with yours..

There is no way the likes of SunSun, Resun etc etc go through the same quality control checks as brands made for European markets. Those tanks are sold for the Asian markets and are considered grey imports in this country. They are made with cheaper materials and lack the same level of QC. Just because something is made in China doesn't mean everything from China is of the same quality, it is a fantasy to think that the only difference is a sticker. I am not the only one that has had 'bad luck', and it is becoming a serious problem as these tanks get imported and sold readily on Ebay.

ive seen them in brackish, marine and freshwater? and he has at least doubled in size since i got him, and he seems fine. :/ been in the tank a good 6 months

yea i understand that. but he didnt come from a brackish tank and like i say has been fine for at least 6 months. the other side is if he is brackish then why can people put them in marine tanks. surely this is the same effect as putting him in tropical ( but the opposite) if you get what i mean!
