but not just any freshwater eel. I'm looking for something that comes out of the Amazon River or one of its many tributaries to live with my Oscar, Dempsey, Managuense, Jag cat, silver dollars and Vampire pleco. Are there any freshwater eels to be found in Central/South America? Keep in mind, I do NOT want an Electric Eel - LOL. It doesn't even have to be a true eel, but rather just eel like. Most species I have found though, need at least a little salt in their water and that is something that isn't going to happen. It has to be a true freshwater specimen.

Electric eel Electrophorus electricus is native to the Amazon
but you need a larger tank for them and it will prob end up killing everything else.

AFAIK the only others native to the Amazon river basin are
Synbranchus marmoratus Marbled swamp eel & Synbranchus madeirae
neither of which I've ever seen in the trade.
