Need A Cheap Tank - Where To Get One

Hi everyone,

i'm looking for a grow out tank for some unexpected cory fry, but i'm having no luck, even clearseal are getting into the hundreds.

has anyone got any ideas (or even has a tank for sale) where to get at least a 15 gallon tank for fry?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Also, it needs to be cheap, on a v. tight budget!

Tried eBay, but theyre all in the hundreds and i cant afford that atm, at least where i live they are anyway.

Having a look on Gumtree now, and I@ve tried aquarist classified but there never seems to be anything near where i am (blackburn) i will try again though!

Freecycle? We have just got a three foot 120 litre tank off there tonight. Great condition and best of all it was free

If you can't find a cheap tank on Ebay/Gumtree/Freecycle near you try B&Q or Poundstretcher -they sell very large plastic crates with lids for about £10 that make great fry, hospital or emergency tanks. Best of all you can use them to store stuff when not needed as tanks and they are unbreakable. I've used them to keep my golbfish indoors in winter and as a feeding tank for turtles.

I managed a 20 gal. from petsmart a bit ago. came with filter good luck!

I got all my tanks from Freecycle, including my 55g! Also got a 20g, 15g, 5g and 3-10g. All free. Some even came with filters, hoods and heaters, gravel, fake plants. It's an amazing thing, Freecycle.

Or PM Micko, who's about to lay his hands on 18 tanks from a LFS that's going belly up.

oh haha forgot to mention that the 20 gal was only 40 bucks and came with hood lights and filter.

Hi and thankyou all for the replies.

I think im going to try the big plastic tub thing, it sounds like a good idea! Are they okay with heaters though? I have a sucker gurad thing on mine but its not a full guard.

I've tried FreeCycle, I'm a moderator actually so I've got a better chance than others, but still no luck!

I found one site 'www.onlineaquariumstore.com' that has cheap clearseal tanks, £40 for a twim pack one of the tanks being 18"X15"X13" (i think)

And i would pm micko, but he lives in northern ireland doesnt he?


And this guy - i live in england and we dont have petsmarts here
