I've been keeping fish since June (My first Molly and two Platy's are still alive
) But anyways, I've been keeping only live bearers in my tank (And some Panda Cory's) And I'm at the point where I really want something different, a little more challenging.
I currently have (Well my signature says it all) 6 Mollies (Plus about 7 fry that haven't been eaten yet) Two Platy's, A female Guppy (My male disappeared and I have NO idea where he went - I think it was the cat
) And 4 Panda Cory's. As well as a few Guppy and Platy fry that I'm debating on keeping.
My tank is 36lx12wx18h, and it's 29.8 Gal (So I just say 30) It's got 3 types of substrate, Blue coral rocks on the bottom, river pebbles in the middle and black coarse sand on top. I have two live plants in the tank, the rest are all plastic.
I was hoping for a full overhaul. I'm planning on giving away some of my Mollies, and I've narrowed it down to the three I bought most recently (Of course, there goes money out the window)...
By full overhaul I mean take the fish, decorations - everything out. Even substrate and lay down new stuff (I'm thinking white sand or something, the black isn't doing it for me anymore, I've done an overhaul before so it's not that I need advice on how, just on what to change
)
so I'd like suggestions on the following:
-I was wondering what I could add with my stock?
(2 Platy's, 3 Mollies, 4 Panda Cory's and 1 Female guppy)
I want something more interesting/challenging for my beginnerness maybe a Gourami(sp?) or some Chichilids.. So does anyone have any suggestions? (Any suggestions welcome, even about shrimp - which creep me out lol, but I'd be willing to introduce some if it looked cool)
-What sort of substrate? (Or what color sand lol)
