I work at petsmart, and i get to bring home fry that i catch in the tanks. I've been bringing home fry (about 5 a week, for the past month or so) and some have gotten HUGE, and some were just born at work yesterday. I also had the amazing surprise to find that the convict chilids had eggs that hatched yesterday, so i sucked them up with the turkeybaster and brought them home too. The baby convicts are in a betta cup floating in the tank until theyh are free swimming a few days from now.
I've been feeding my babes frozen baby brine shrimp, and crushed tropical flakes.
I hope to soon get a 30+ tank to eventually move the chilids into, i may even go buy the breeding pair that had them, i know wich ones they are, and this is not the first time they have made babies. :)

Enjoy my pics.

The chilid fry are just a day old, very small, and very hard to see. they are bunched up on the far side of the cup. I'll get new pics once they are free swimming. I guess that i have about 40fry.

40?? cool are you going to sell them?

any ways good luck with whatever you do!! :good:

Well, i might sell some of them, but i want to keep a lot too. My friend Nick that works at petsmart with me has 18 fishtanks, and hes a member of a fish club. he brings fish he raises there and sells them to "fish people" and makes more than stores charge and it works out pretty well. So i may "join the club" and see what i can do. But i really hope a few of the chilids survive because they are amazing. I will be getting a much bigger tank if all goes well and they live. Nick even has a spare 40gallon tank he said i can take.

I really love fish. I have been doing everything i can to keep these babies alive. and so far, its been going really well. :)
