My Tank

My anglefish is silver with black stripes (if I can get pictures on the forum then I will show you).
With the picture thing are you saying I have to create a new topic in "Members' aquarium and fish pictures"?

i think so, yes. Messages on this forum don't seem to bring up the box at the bottom for adding attachments, not sure why. But when I go to the "Member's aquarium and fish pictures" forum, the option is there.

Maybe someone else more experienced knows whether this is the case? I don't think I have restricted access that could be causing it?

I doubt you have restricted access because it doesn't work for me either.
I tried posting on the other forum and the box at the bottom came up, but when I uploaded it, it said the image was to big or something like that and it didn't work. Is there a way to resize the pictures so it will work?

In the past when I had that error message, I just resized them on my computer and saved them as smaller files and then tried again.

I'm sorry about bothering you, but I'm only 13.

How do you resize them??? :dunno:

Hmmm... not a problem asking me, but not sure if I can help! It depends on the software you use to download, view, save and edit your photos on your computer. I use Finepix which came with my camera, and in there I just click on Image - Image size - then I have two boxes with the amount of pixels in the photo which I usually half to make them a more manageable size for uploading to forums. Your software will no doubt be a little different, but you may be able to find something that lets you change the image size.

Failing that I think you can register with photobucket.com and upload your photos to there and then paste in the code they give you into your message. Not too sure of how that works though, to be honest. Sorry.

I think in the forum group Member's aquariums and fish there is a pinned thread about uploading photos, if there is it might be worth reading through that.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

It seems the various forums on here have different rules about attching / uploading pictures, most annoying I agree!

The easiest way to do it to be honest is to use either imageshack, (I don't think you need to register), or PhotoBucket (I use this :) ).

Certainly with photobucket you can upload your photo whatever the size it is, and tell Photobucket that you want it scaled for use on a forum. It will rescale it and give you an [ IMG ] type link below the photo, you can then just copy and paste that link into your message on here and it will display the picture :good:
I can't say how imageshack do it as I don't use it

Do you think I should open the pictures in paint and then save them? It will be a bit fuzzy but it should work.

BTW my small male molly died, but I now have a new female molly. So I have 1 male and 2 females.

I know many people use photobucket, but as I have said earlier, my brother already has an account on there and I can't make another one.

As was suggested waaay back in post #12, why don't you get your own e-mail address then, and then you can get your own photobucket account too. theres a whole bunch of freebies to choose from, Hotmail, yahoo, googlemail to name but a few.
:good:

Could you maybe log in as your brother and upload your photo? Alternatively, as suggested above, could you get a new googlemail or yahoo account and then set up your own Photobucket account with that?

My brother is a typical 15 year old and won't let me use his account. Also I can't make my own e-mail.
Is there any other ways???

What software do you use to edit photos on your PC?
Maybe you can resize them and then upload into the Members aquariums and fish forum?

If you are using Windows, you can download Microsoft image resizer for free and all you have to do is right-click on the image, choose resize image and choose the appropriate size (small, medium, or large...I usually choose small). Then just upload the resized image to the forums.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/Downloa...ppowertoys.mspx

The link to the resizer download is about halfway down the page.
