Hi,
I am 13 and kept fish since the start of 2008 (I had a betta in a 20 litre tank for about 6 months). I now have a 90 litre tank, which I have had since July.
If I can I'll try to get some pictures of my tank, because I have just started with live plants. I have four swords now but plan to get more smaller plants.
At the moment my favourite fish in my tank are my Angelfish (called Angel) and my Bristlenose Pleco (which doesn't have a name yet).
I'll try to write back soon and as I said get some pictures on the site.
Bye

Cool,I had angelfish when I was your age, they're lovely and you get quite attached to them. What else do you have in your tank?(I have to admit when I was your age that two angelfish was all I had as I loved them so much).

I have:
1 Angelfish (7 to 8cm)
1 Bristlenose Pleco (only about 3cm long)
3 mollies (2 are 6cm and 1 is 4cm)
8 neons
1 algae eater (7cms)
1 cory (4cms)
+ 3 other fish with that I don't know what type they are (fairly small)

I haven't had much luck with corys because I have had 3 and as I wrote above I now have 1. I plan to get rid of the algae eater because it is starting to get aggresive (I bought it when it was smaller and I didn't know about them being aggresive.)

Ally,

You look to be pretty much fully stocked and the plan to re-home the algae eater certainly sounds reasonable. Are you happy with your tank as is or do you hope to make further changes?

I do plan to make changes, but apart from getting rid of the Algae Eater I don't plan to change the fish too much. I want more plants, I want to get a castle and take out my shipreck and maybe make part of it a different level. I post more of my plans later once I have posted a pic off my tank. :good:

cories need to be in groups of about 6 plus really but as you are short for space i would reckomend getting 2 more to make a trio

As I said in my first post I haven't had much luck with cories. I have had 3 and I now only have 1. My ph stays at around 7, I clean the tank every week and I am not having any problems with any other fish. So I don't know what I'm doing wrong. If anyone can help me then please do!!!

Do you have a liquid-reagent based test kit Ally? Perhaps you lost those catfish early on when you're tank wasn't fully cycled. They are pretty sensitive to ammonia and nitrite, just like most other fish.

I have a Ph and a Ammonia test kit, but I don't think the cause was the tank not being fully cycled. The reason for this is that the last cory that I lost died only a week or so ago. Oh, he was being bullied by the Algae Eater. Could that have been the cause.

This is just a quick question. How do you get photo's onto the site?
(Is there a wayto do it with out using Photobucket or Imageshack)

The reason is that I can't get an account on photobucket is because my brother already has one, so it won't let me get one, because we have the same email address (same computer).
I have tried using imageshack without having an account but every time I try to put a photo on, when I go into preview post the picture does not come up.

Does anyone know about the cories?

Also,
my Bristlenose Pleco is going well I have had it for about 5 and a bit weeks and it has grown 1cm in that time. It still doesn't have a name because I don't know if it is a boy or a girl yet.
If it was 3cm when I got it, and I have had it for over a month, does anyone know how long it will be before I can determine the sex of my pleco.
Thanks

Bristlenose can take quite a while to get big enough to sex easily. I just got some from a breeder that are 6 months old and the breeder had a hard time sexing them to give me a pair.

So is anyone going to reply about my fishies... :-( Just joking!!!

Sounds good Ally, looking forward to seeing photos.

What colour is your angelfish?

I have two tanks and in one I have a platinum angelfish, she's great, such a character! Always greedy and comes to the front of the tank when I stand in front of it. Definitely my favourite. She also has a tendency to "push" my bristlenose.

In order to upload photos, I think if you go to the forum group "Members' aquarium and fish pictures" and start a new topic, you should have a button at the bottom right hand side below your message that says "manage current attachments" and below that Browse and Upload. If you click on browse and select the photo from your computer C drive or wherever you have saved them, then click on upload, you should be able to upload the photos you want to show. Beware: it seems if they are too big, you can't upload them.

You then position your cursor in your message where you want to insert the photo and click on Manage Current Attachments. The drop down box should show the image you uploaded, click on it and it will be inserted in your message. You then just need to click on preview message to make sure it's showing ok and then post message.

Hope this helps. If not, maybe someone else can explain better than I can (not been around that long myself but remember struggling the first time with this!).

Good luck.
