My Oscar Bited Me!

So, I was giving my Oscar his normal treat which is a lump of Felix fish flavoured cat food, he missed the food and got my finger, I was surprised how hard his bite was, when I got my finger back it was bleeding, so I washed it to find 3 cuts, Do Oscars have teeth? And can a fish bite infect my finger?

He broke the skin, so infection is a possibility.
Wash it well & put some antiseptic ointment on it

Well actually I only found out today that oscars dont have any teeth but have very muscular muscles in the mouth that can hurt - I might have read wrong though.
No it shouldn't really infect you but if you want to be on the safe side, you could put some anti-septic spray on it or wipe it with anti-septic wipes.

I did wash it well, haven't got ant antiseptic stuff, I'm not very organised like that

If they havnt got any teeth, they must have some sort of sharp grinding plate because when he eats his Cichlids gold I can hear him crunching it

Same with my O, I can hear a crunch sound and see him chewing, thats why I was baffled when I found out they had no teeth.

I got bit by a Red Zebra. Broke the skin. No infection and I still have use of my thumb Wash it well. It will be okay

U best go to the hospital they wiLl take the finger off for u lol. When I put my arm in to do some maintenance my green tiger barbs all swim up and peck at my fingers and the hair on my arm lol no battle scars yet though lol

Your spit has a pretty strong natural antiseptic in it. Suck on your finger after washing it if you dont have any antiseptic lying around.

Oscars have got teeth...! They come out of their lips... I've seen them on mine, do a google search and look at homer on #99###
