Well Ive been talking about her for a few days on the forum and finally got to pick her up today. Seems to be settling in well, her and my Nicaraguan are just dealing with a few issues as to whos second in the tank ranking but it seems about 50/50 atm. The Guianacara is giving as good as she gets, fairly certain its a girl as her head isnt as blocky as the males you see in videos.

Im calling her a Guianacara Sphenozona at the moment but Im not 100% on the ID if anyone can chip in would be appreciated :)

Here are the pics

last one for comparison to my sev to show size, bit of a depth issue in that pic she is big but not as big as my sev as that one shows.

I presume she is full grown, I think shes probably about 3-5 years old. Its from the same guy I got my Heros Severus from and she is one of those fish that gets passed around fish clubs from time to time, quite unusual for someone with a reputation to offload fish like this to a shop.... going to try and get her some friends but might be hard to find, the shop sold the rest of her group of in pairs which is stupid because they wont breed just in pairs.

Very happy with her so far :) One night I want to sit at the tank and get some macro shots of the sev, nics and guis eyes would make a cool sig as the sev has bright red eyes, gui has blue eyes and nic has yellow eyes :)

Very nice she looks good. I hope you can find her a friend. That's a really nice find.

Thanks guys :) She really has settled in now I think, always out seems to hang out with my severum quite a bit :)

Thanks guys :) looks like she had a bit of a rough night, few nipped fins but to be expected really when you add a cichlid of that size to a tank of cichlids unfortunately.

Going to do a rescape in the morning see if that helps her out a bit, got a plan what I want to do so should work out nice :)

 stunning mate just stunning, Don't know why but reminds me of a overgrown keyhole..

These can be quite aggressive so i have heard?

Yeah they remind me of a geo x keyhole haha. It seems a bit mixed as to their aggression some are really timid and hide a lot others are fine and some are hyper aggressive. One reason they could be seen as aggressive is due to the amount they flare as seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fkBT2_SIUM different species but similar to mine :)
