yeah i looked at both, think im gonna stick to fake though, saw some nice ones aswell as some bogwood which i think will go really well in there

Least with plastic one less thing to have to think about some good ones out their quite fancy an edge or nano tank myself. Toying with a marine nano but will save first lol

forgot to mention may ammonia levvels are still around 5ppm

Will drop eventually what's your Ph? Nitrite? And tank temp?

cant test my levels today, me and my girlfriend at my house till tomorrow, however been and got all the decor we like and need for the tank so will be adding the decor and testing tomorrow

water testing results today...
Ph = 7.4/7.6
ammonia = 4ppm
nitrIte = 0ppm
nitrAte = 10ppm
pretty wierd results to me or is this showing something?
here are some pictures of the tank with its new decor, think this is the layout i will be sticking to...

however i have noticed some sort of "cobweb" like substance forming around my heater here are 2 pics could anybody help...

please help!!

If you had 0 nitrate and now you have 10 could show some processing of the ammonia as that has dropped from around 5 to 4ppm keep in their.

Not sure what it's called but I get similar around my suckers on the filter, thermometer and heater but once cleaned it takes ages to come bk! Tanks looking good mate you pleased with the progress?

try cleaning it off with a aquarium glass cleaning pad or some filter sponge media.

I just got 3 more fish today only space for 2 more if that now and the excitement for getting fish will be over until I save enough for my nano tank! Even then may only be able to have 1 fish but I don't mind

Iv seen a few marine ones but really fancy a clown fish but I'd have to read up on them fully some strains you can get away with in a small tank. If not I may go for a fluval chi and have a few little fish. Think I'll start saving a couple of quid a week towards the big one. I think up 2 now my fave fish are the catfish I have and the lab traversae.

On saying that with the marine it would mean having to buy things again so if it's gonna cost loads for such a small tank I think I'll go with a small tropical and learn about live plants and have small fish.

I'd really have to look into it myself don't really want to spend a ridiculous amount of money for such a small thing. This hobby isn't cheap sadly! I think in reality it will be an edge or chi first time I spotted the edges I was like they are so smart!! Every time I go into dobbbies and see there's in action I'm like one day! Iv got the socket and bench space in the kitchen waiting!

I was tempted by some today at LFS Shirley Aquatics. They were in good condition and not a snail in sight.
Was at MHA down the road last week and the plants were ok but it was like a snail resort!
