My Mudskipper Aquarium

I've found that it's not that mudskippers wouldn't sell, but that the stores are too lazy (or find them not profitable enough) to setup a temporary paludarium sales tank.

That's another thing I fear.

It's very nice, Mikes...

Soon, I'll be going to the Sydney aquarium and I know they've got a Brackish Mudskipper tank... I'll take loads of pics...

Cheers...

Make sure you do, and I'll be going to London aquarium and I believe they also have Mudskippers, if I can get my camera fixed then I'll take some pics.

Cheers,
Mike

MORE PICS  i know the Cameras not workin' right? :p Good tank so far... I think you should get a couple bumblee bee gobies though, or not your choice :good:

I don't know, I don't think it would be a suitable enviroment for Bumble beegobies and I want the Mudskippers to be the focus, although they probably still would be. Besides, I am planning to keep some Bumblebees in another tank eventually, but I might be tempted for them in the future.

I am getting the camera fixed in a few days, so, if all goes well, pics are to follow.

Cheers,
Mike

Today I bought a humidity gauge from a reptile/fish store.

Sweet, but so long as you've got atleast 10gallons of water in their u'd be fine for some bumblee bee gobies

Hey Mikes,

Do you think I ought to get a Humidity Gauge for my Mudskipper Aquarium?

I've thought about it and I have decided to get a larger tank... (well, a taller one at any rate...) If I am to setup this tank, I want no mistakes (and I think having a tall tank is very important - as I intend to keep Mangroves!)

So if I go for a tank, around 30" long, around 15" wide and (ideally) something like 20 - 24" high...

Cheers...

Cool, a tall tank would be ideal for Mangroves. A humidity gauge would be useful, I would recommend it. I now regret that I didn't get a taller wider tank for mangroves. In the future I'll probably upgrade to a much larger system with mangroves and tide systems.

Today I changed the layout (again). It's sort of like the first layout although I have peices of wood which should stick out of the water, they look like mangrove roots. I also added some aquatic soil to the beach area, which will mean they will have an area to burrow. I'm pleased with this layout (finally) and I don't think I'll change it again.

Also, I have 3 fish stores all trying to see if they can get some skippers for me, if that fails I'll go and search for them further afield.

My camera should be working on Friday, so I'll update than, BTW the tank is not actually setup as in water in, I was just going to take pics of the equipment.

Cheers,
Mike
