My male betta with babies!

hey sorry if i said i wanna try that, but i wanna try that. im going to condition my pair(s) in about a week and a half then breed 2 weeks after so im thinking about doing 2 pairs at once. 1 pair i will remove the father after hatching. the other leave in for 10 days. have a little competition. what do you think?

that is very interesting to have lerned, and im glad i lerned it, but every male and evey spawn is differant. some males dont even wait for hatching they eat all the eggs, some eat the babays soon after hatching, and some are very difficult to spawn at all. another forum member i know of "rain" accually had a mg spwn that went very well. his female helped the male build his nest and then helped carry the eggs. he was very fortunate to have that happen but not all females will do that. if you have a method that works for you, then go for it :thumbs: as for your males that wont spawn, iv had the same problme with my male. hes new to the whole thing and i have tryed spawning him many times. if he doesn't mess up im the one who userally ruins it it :D just takes time, not all fish are juts going to get to it. good luck with your spawn, and nice pics :thumbs:

just a quick update red male IS GAY :rofl: no he has lost interest.......so wasnt female so put in BLUE halfmoon and they spawned within the hour so will now try the experiment.......... :eek: :rofl:

Are you sure he is a gay? Did you try to put him with another male and see if he gay or not! hahahaha :p
Well, I do have a copper halfmoon male that don't even border to look at a female at all. Totally have no clue what is mating is and don't blow bubbles. He just passing back infront of the female in the breeding tank too. Clueless and I need to give it to whom who wants it with the tsunami babies. :) Oh yeah, I think I know who I am giving too. :)
TEACH ME HOW TO ATTACH MY BANNER PLEASE. :sad:

hey just an american putting my 2 cents in but i read a while ago that leaving daddy in is good for several reasons,, less ending fry even a small batch usually ends up with 25 or more,,really what are ya gonna do with 300 fry? daddy eats the weak and sickly ones so the ones that are left are strong and top quality,, and daddy teaches them to swim and eat,, i even have a betta book that someone was experimenting with leaving daddy and mommy in ,,peremently,while raising multible batches of fry,,,, think huge tnak 55 gallon planted really well, jusst removing older fry at about 2 months,, so they dont compete with mom and dad for breeding reasons,and how its more natural. in the wild daddy bubbles the babies and mommy stands guard from a distance, i think first times have such a hard time with eggs fry and as adults aggression, cause they have no ;; family time;;
