My frogs are singing!

We have a pair of ADFs that have been with us for 3 years. I have never heard them sing. How sad! What’s up with that?

Maybe you have two females. It seems that, in the frog world, music is mostly limited to males. Glad people aren't like that.

So I saw mine trying to mate the day before I heard them singing, mine are only doing it at night though. But since I posted this there's been no more singing! Maybe they're resting their vocal chords

I think they sound a bit like dolphins when they communicate, but also did read that some people can't hear it depending on the frequency so maybe that's why you don't hear yours @gwand? I dunno, I had my previous ADF's for 7 years and they never sang, I think that's why I was so surprised to hear these guys when I've not even had them a year. It's a very cute noise, if I can catch it again I'll record and upload.
