Just the two filters should be plenty, just use the venturi on one of them; both could be too much as a lot of oddly-shaped fish aren't great swimmers.

yeah fantails arnt natural fish, and so were bred for there looks, they kind of woddle in the water rather than swim.

At swimming they are, to put it bluntly, crap. Probably best to turn the filter off while you feed them, too - they could be chasing it all day.
