My Fish Are Ruining My Relationship :s

It's been so long since I've owned fish. I've wanted more for years and now I've finally got them I'm becoming obsessed!

I'm constantly searching the forum for info and sitting staring at the tank considering ideas, I haven't watched 30 seconds of TV in months lol. Think the missus is getting a bit fed up

I can't help it though, I find fish and their characteristics so interesting and constantly learning new things so hard to ignore.

Anyone else find themselves in this predicament?

My boyfriend stopped fighting it awhile ago. I genuinely believe he is jealous of the fish but he knows full well they're going nowhere!

me and Kev both love the fish and tank, so we watch it together.

he never really enjoyed tanks til i introduced him 5 years ago, now hes like me, obsessed!

but tbh, he was the one who wanted the horizon 60l, so i said yes, as long as i have nowt to do with it, then he got bored, so i said, i'll have it, but i want bigger!

nnow he's as obsessed as me again lol

Yep. . .my husband doesn't at all share my interest in tanks. He gets annoyed if I bring up anything. Coincidently, I began spending most of my time focusing on fish after he upgraded his HDTV sports package and has about 20 games a night to chose from. And, he wonders why I don't sit on the couch (unless it is to look at my babies)! Football or fish. Huh. . .

Nothing gets between me and my missus, we both like the fish but she does come first Im afraid (excuse the pun)!!!

My wife hates me with or without fish tanks, so I don't really care what she says (same goes for the sailboat, and other things I like to do) The good thing is that when I leave I get to take my tanks with me, and that fished won't talk back =p

my last 4 girlfriends i have sucked them into liking fish and they all now have fish tanks. and i go over to clean the tanks for them.

and might do a couple other things while im over cleaning the tank

Hubs was fine when I had one tank, then two, but after I added the third we had a bit of an arguement, which I obviously won, now i'm upto 8 & he just smiles & nods when I mention where the next tank is going or where I need to collect fish from at the weekends.

He doesnt share my interest in fish at all, although he does like the snakeheads, but he has offered to start building my fish room for my christmas pressie

That would be awesome to have a dedicated fish room!

Yup in the same boat, it started off with a tank for my sons fairground goldfish and now I am the proud owner of a fish house as well as 2 house tanks

I have MTS in a bad way as I hate an empty tank, and of course the little darlings will breed so you have babies who need a tank to grow out in.

My hubby does come down to the shed occassionally to see what he lost me to, he has also got used to the fact that the at dinner time the fish get fed first and then the humans, such a lovely man and so patient with me ...especially when I ask him to drive miles away so that I can see what some fish shop has in the way of unusual fish

The sofa has now been moved so I can, A) Clean the tank without getting in the way of the TV (for him) B) when I do get a chance to sit down and just tank watch, it's much more comfy. We have a understanding in our house, I can indulge in my fishies and garden if he can go and play golf. Works for us.

Hubby's not as much into the fishies as I am, but anything that keeps me happy keeps him happy so it's all good.
LOL Wait til the male bettas move into the tank next to his side of the bed, the first thing he'll see in the mornings.
Although, I secretly suspect he's holding out on enthusiasm until we move onto the custom build marine tank - he rather likes corals
