when rinsing the filter in the drained tank water how is the best way 2 clean it? do i scrub? jiggle? shake? any ideas would b helpful. thanks

Just scrub it.

I usually just use my algae scrubber and old tank water. That way I get both the algae in the tank and the scum on the filter off at once.

I usually wash it thoroughly in the tank water (in a separate bucket), then use the same sponge to clean the glass of the tank!

So far, no problems...
