My betta is just a Veiltail from the petstore. He's not really fancy.

But my friend gave him to me before he went off to college.
His name is "Magik Bud" [Magik is my name for him, but my friend calls him Bud]

Anyways, I thought he was getting a bit lazy and I have never seen him flare. (I've had him for 3 weeks now) and I put a mirror in. He DID flares. Really good actually, and he flew all around his tank flaring at everything...

I took the mirror out after 8 minutes...

That was yesterday.

Today I'm seeing him flare at EVERYTHING in his tank.
At the filter, the heater, the plants, his caves, his 2 mystery snail buddies.

I know he can see his reflection in the glass but that never bothered him for 3 weeks...

Why won't he stop flaring?
--
Oh and he just tried to kill his plant leaf... And now he's pecking one of his caves and flaring...

Why?
What can i do to get him to stop?

Turn the light off in the tank and cover it with a blanket so that it's dark. Let him chill out for awhile.

Agreed. He will chill out eventually. I once had a very flare happy betta like yours. Was shy at first then just got it in his head one day and began flaring at everything. Calmed down in time but occasionally would go on a flaring spree. Gotta love them for their individuality.
Cheers
