(I can try to get a pic of the fish, but it's kind of hard to get considering he keeps following me around begging for food and I can't get my camera to focus or get the side of his face with the lighter/white/pale spot)

So I already tested out the levels like pH, nitrate, nitrite, gH, etc. and it's all fine. I have a betta fish in a tank and he's been healthy since I've gotten him but today I woke up and there was a lower part of his mouth that was a lighter red color. It starts off as the color of his mouth (he's a red fish and his mouth is a lighter red compared to his other scales) and then kind of trails off into a whitish color.

I don't know what caused it. It's more of a pure white color near the top of his gills but hasn't encroached into or on his gills. He's active as ever and hungry as ever even after I've fed him.

I might just keep an eye on him to see if it spreads or any other symptoms emerge, but does anyone have any ideas?

TLDR: starts off as similar reddish color as his mouth, then trails on down near the top of his gills into a white color.
