Murder In The Tank!

I've had 10+ Amano Shrimp in my tank for years, they was in my 60L then I got a 190L and moved them in everything fine.

I've got two Keyholes, two Bolivian Rams, one Angel Fish, 14 Rummm Nose Tetra and 1 Bristlenose Plec in the tank, with the 10+ Amano Shrimp... everyone gets on fine!

...BUT THEN! I happend to be watching TV and out the corner of my eye I seen pure MADNESS in one corner of the tank, I stood up and said "what the heck is going on here!" to the other half. Got closer to the tank and seen one of my Amano Shrimp in half! One half on the floor the other half in the Keyholes mouth!!

I didn't think they would eat the shrimp due to their size, but darn I must be wrong?! Never had a problem before the shrimp have always been out and about munching on left over food right next to the fish.

Why would the Keyhole be ripping my shrimp to bits?! And they have only done it to one, the others are still on leaves etc next to the Keyholes, but they don't do nothing to them?

Poor shrimp couldn't belive it when I seen it in two! Secconds after it was in a lot of peices all over the tank

Sadly not, I thought it was at first. But once all the inside of the shrimp was going everywhere I knew it wasnt

must have! They don't seem to want the others though... maybe not as good as they thought it would be haha!

It sounds like the rest of your shrimp have not been attacked, so I would assume it was dead before it was eaten.

thats what happens with Cichlids...never trust them with ANY shrimp.

Couldn't belive it! It was like a dog with a toy (head going left to right ragging the toy!) it looked so brutal

Haha, they Keyholes are going nowhere! They are the best fish in the tank to watch .
